The Cie des Chaussons Rouges was created in 2012 in Brussels by Audrey Bossuyt and Marta Lodoli. Self-taught tightrope walkers, they come from worlds other than the circus, and they immerse themselves with a gaze freed from conventions.

The company interprets the circus as a visual art.
It offers ephemeral, sober and elegant creations that explore notions of time and space, through body language and that question society’s relationship to these notions.

The influence of contemporary dance and the sculptural installation are essential elements, the first in the body language of the tightrope walkers, the last in the construction and operation of the tightrope walker structures and how they interact within the space.
